La Residence Hotel & Suites
One of my favorite hotels on the island of Mykonos is the La Residence Hotel & Suites. A colonial chic hotel, where you can experience high quality hospitality and luxury services. As soon as you walk through the doors of the La residence hotel in Mykonos, you fall in love. The view is enchanting. The entire hotel faces the ocean. Everywhere you look is a glimpse of the beautiful Aegean Sea.
Honestly, it makes me wonder why I visit other hotels in Mykonos! The staff welcome you in a delightful manner eager to respond to your needs. They answer questions and make you feel at home.
Hotel facilities include a large main swimming pool and four private and shared pools. At night the beautifully lighted hotel pools combined with the starry Mykonos sky create a mesmerizing site.
Accommodations
There are three types of luxury suites, which can accommodate up to 3 persons. All suites include: Gil Christ & Soames amenities, feather down pillows, mini bar, Sony LCD 20″, Sony CD Hi-Fi with USB outlets, wardrobes, Wi-fi all around, Philips hairdryer, and fine linen. The rooms and their bathrooms are quite spacious. Each suite features silk comforter covers and tasteful furnishings and paintings. Some suites feature private pools decorated with handmade crystal mosaics. We were lucky to be upgraded to a room with a shared swimming pool! As soon as we stepped into our room, I was slipping into my swimsuit and plopping straight into the pool!
Restaurants
A full buffet breakfast is available from 8:00am to 11:30 am. Now that is what I call hospitality, cause who wants to wake up bright and early on vacation. The ability to sleep in late and cruise into breakfast at a later hour is pure heaven.
Gourmet tastes are served at the La Veranda hotel restaurant, which offers a magnificent view of the beach. The charming hotel bar serves cocktails and drinks in a relaxing atmosphere. The mini bar in your room is refilled with mineral water daily. Room service is available 24 hours.
Pet Friendly
This is where a hotel makes it or breaks it for me. If my beloved Maltese dog, Sammy can’t come then I’m certainly not going! Fortunately this is a super pet friendly location. Upon our arrival, staff were rushing around to get Sammy a bowl of water and fussing over who was going to pet him first. An added bonus, pets can stay free of charge!
Additional Information
The hotel is located a good 15 minute drive from Mykonos town. I high recommend renting a car so you can visit the cosmopolitan Mykonos town and the island’s stunning beaches. Kalafatis beach located in front of the hotel is beautiful, but can get windy. Winds tend to die down in September, my personal favorite time of the year to visit amazing Mykonos!
