Natural Homemade Apple sauce
This recipe for homemade apple sauce is so simple and delicious. Incredibly versatile in it’s use. Spread it over peanut butter and make yourself a PB & J or add it as a topping to your oatmeal. This apple sauce can be used as a lovely side dish to compliment any roasted meat, especially holiday pork or ham. Remove the sugar from the recipe and you have an easy meal for baby. Let’s get started. Heres’s what you’ll need.
Ingredients
4 – good sized apples
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Directions
Peel, core and chop your apples.
In a saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon.
Cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are soft. Uncover saucepan for the last few minutes of cooking to steam out the water. You should be left will only a hint of water in your sauce pan. Allow mixture to cool. I then like to place my apple sauce in a blender or food processor to create a smooth, creamy consistency.
Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
